The Living Language Complete Edition is divided into three parts - essential, intermediate, and advanced. Let me start out by comparing this with other Living Language products so that you get an idea what range of the spectrum it falls in. So far I have tried the following Living Language English study sets and they are arranged in the level of difficulty that I think they should be in and not what's actually marked on the packages:English for New Americans, and Easy English - BeginnerEnglish For the Real World - Lower IntermediateBusiness English, Fluent English - Upper IntermediateGetting Ahead in the US. - AdvancedIn the above spectrum, Living Language Complete edition falls somewhere between Beginner and mid Intermediate level. So I would recommend this for people who are at beginner or lower/ mid intermediate level. But if you are at upper intermediate or advanced level, then there are plenty of other living language resources that would be of more value for money.The three parts has a book and three CDs each, totaling to three books and nine CDs. It also has an extra notebook for you to take notes which I think was completely unnecessary.It teaches you vocabulary, grammar, and how to build phrases and sentences. It also has conversations from time to time but unlike other Living Language materials, there aren't pauses for you to repeat. I was expecting more conversations.To sum up, it does teach a variety of things and I do think it will be helpful for students at beginners and intermediate level but Living Language should seriously stop calling it the complete edition.
Bought for a Russian speaker with entry level English knowledge. She loves it. Especially with all levels and cd. She uses phone apps but books are another way of media that stimulates her sense for studying. Can't go wrong with the price.
As an international teacher, I've used LL products to hit the ground with confidence and basic fluency in various countries. The nature of self-studying a language is limiting when compared to live interactive classes, but LL is the best self-study product I've ever used (and I've tried many over the last 20 years). The three levels are organized around topics and situations with progressively difficult grammar structures. All supported with audio. Truly AMAZING!So I decided I would offer this product as an end-of-year gift to my top student. I've never had any problems with the product. Surprisingly, there was a fluke with the product I ordered--one of the nine CDs was missing. Since I had just arrived in West Africa, I knew that an Amazon exchange was out of the question, so I emailed LL directly. Within hours I had a response with various options, from mailing the missing CD to accessing the missing audio via MP3 to accommodate my international status. I chose to have the CD mailed. It was an incredibly fast, simple and pleasant customer service experience! I'm looking forward to my next LL product when I change countries this fall!
I think this is a very good course to learn English. It has three different books according with the beginning , intermediate , and advance levels. Nine CDs are included too in order to be easier for the students. The price is not expensive and I am sure the people can study by themselves using the material correctly.
Great books for someone who wants to learn English or even improve what you already know. Lots of activities with cds that helps you with the pronunciation. Very helpful and you can definitely care them around

If you're looking for a system to use as part of an ESL program, you're really going to love this. I was impressed with the packaging and content immediately. Very professional looking, and the beginner content is appropriate.
The listening is really slow and not usable. the book is really boring. I opened it tried it for a 2 hours and put it in the closet.
